[PLACEHOLDER] below with your actual details, then remove this notice.1. Who we are
CalcSimplr (“we”, “us”, “our”) is operated by [YOUR FULL NAME OR COMPANY NAME], located at [YOUR ADDRESS, CITY, POSTCODE, UK].
We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy. If you have any questions, please contact us at [YOUR CONTACT EMAIL ADDRESS].
We are registered with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). Registration number: [ICO REGISTRATION NUMBER]. You can verify this at ico.org.uk.
2. What personal data we collect
We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:
| Data | Source | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Email address | You provide it at sign-up (via Auth0) | Account authentication and identification |
| Name / profile picture | Optional, from your social login provider (e.g. Google) | Displaying your account in the navbar |
| Calculator inputs (e.g. salary, pension %) | You enter them when you save a snapshot | Restoring your saved data across devices |
| Session cookie (__session) | Set automatically after login | Keeping you logged in during your visit |
| Anonymous usage data | Vercel Analytics — no cookies, no IP storage | Understanding which calculators are used (aggregated only) |
| Advertising cookies | Google AdSense (requires your consent) | Showing relevant ads to keep the service free |
We do notcollect payment information, national insurance numbers, tax reference numbers, or any government identifiers. The numbers you enter into our calculators are stored only if you are signed in and choose to save a snapshot. Anonymous visitors’ inputs are never stored.
3. Legal basis for processing
- ✓Contract (Art. 6(1)(b) UK GDPR) — processing your email and saved snapshots is necessary to provide the account-based features you signed up for.
- ✓Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) UK GDPR) — anonymous analytics help us improve the service without identifying you personally. Our interest is proportionate and does not override your rights.
- ✓Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) UK GDPR) — advertising cookies (Google AdSense) are only placed after you give explicit consent via our cookie banner. You may withdraw consent at any time.
4. How long we keep your data
- ✓Account and saved snapshots — retained for as long as your account is active. You can delete everything instantly at any time using the “Delete profile” button in your account menu. This permanently removes your Auth0 account and all saved data from our database.
- ✓Session cookie — expires when you sign out or after 7 days of inactivity.
- ✓Anonymous analytics — Vercel retains aggregated, non-identifiable data for up to 90 days.
- ✓Advertising cookies — Google AdSense cookies persist according to Google’s own retention schedule (up to 13 months). See Google’s privacy policy for details.
5. Who we share your data with
We use the following data processors — companies that handle data on our behalf under binding agreements:
| Processor | Role | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Auth0 (Okta, Inc.) | Authentication — stores your email and login credentials | USA (SCCs / UK adequacy) |

| Vercel Inc. | Hosting and anonymous analytics | USA (SCCs) |
| Google LLC | Advertising (AdSense) — only if you consent | USA (SCCs) |

6. International transfers
Our processors are based in the United States. We rely on UK-approved Standard Contractual Clauses (UK SCCs) to ensure your data receives equivalent protection to that required under UK GDPR when transferred outside the UK.
